Building Haiti

One Vision International is a non-profit organization with a mission of extending aid and support to seemingly forgotten areas of the world. Our work in Haiti began in January 2009 when One Vision discovered 124 orphans living in an abandoned night club. Our plan is to build a permanent facility for these children to live, learn and grow.

    The Project

Building Haiti is an effort by One Vision International to build a permanent facility for orphaned children in Haiti to live, learn and grow. Our project is a long-term investment into the lives of these children and their community. We hope to have the children moved in by spring 2012.

    Our Goal: Build Haiti
During phase one, we will begin construction on the orphanage and start an agricultural project on the property. Future phases include plans for a school, medical clinic, church and team house on our property.

    Our Focus: Develop the Community
The new orphanage will be home to 100 kids. The school on the property will provide an education to more than 200 additional children within the surrounding community.

Our effort concentrates both on the livelihood of the children and the success of the community. The plans include:

    • A new orphanage with proper restrooms, eating facilities and a recreation area
    • An agricultural project for the community and to help sustain the orphanage
    • A medical clinic, school and church to serve the entire community
    • A water purification system to provide clean drinking water for the children and others

    Our Team: Francisco and Cecile
Dr. Francisco Noel, our Director of Operations in Haiti, is an integral part to ensuring the success of our project. Dr. Noel, a native Haitian, studied medicine and graduated in Haiti. He and his wife Cecile have a contagious passion for their people. They are survivors of the earthquake and share in our vision and hope for the future.
